The 2025 Queer Yenta Recap

Many a booty was shooken

Happy new year! I posted a version of this 2025 recap on Instagram and wanted to share with the email crew as well. Thank you all for being part of this - and hope to see you soon <3

Queer Yenta 2025 in numbers and gratitudes:
🪩 7 events planned with my dear Lee White across 6 locations (big love for queer-owned venues Dreamhouse, Fame, Tunic & Sub Rosa, plus the beautiful Sunderland Town Park and Ashfield Lake)
🪩 301 (yes 301!!) matches made at speed dating
🪩 6 local queer djs volunteered 7+ hours of dance party sets (huge thank you to MELA, Cachetona, Sasha, Entity, PRL and Seva)
🪩 32 artists donated work to our raffles (too many of you to list - but so appreciated!!!)
🪩 $5156 moved to Middle East Children’s Alliance and LUCE bc why just party when u can also fundraise

🩶 All of our events were either sliding scale or free
🩶 Over 70% of our events had either a mask required portion or an outdoor venue
🩶 All but one of our events were wheelchair accessible

Monog / Non-monog speed dating this fall

DJ PRL getting everyone hyped!

Ok and lest we forget the radio!!!
🎙️ 7 smokin hot queer yenta radio catches who compiled over 130 bangin songs for their on-air playlists (the season 3 gang Lucia, L, Iris, Joan, Kyana, Samantha & John)
🎙️ 19 episodes of Bucky’s Mixtape including many hours of intergenerational dyke talk with cherished friend Ellen Miller-Mack
🎙️ 62 queer yenta tshirts designed by bestie Eva Wu made their way into the world with $108 donated from sales to Gaza relief

Pushin buttons n stuff

A few t-shirts left for sale at Dreamhouse!

Not pictured: flyering til we drop, spreadsheets galore, a million and one planning (scheming/dreaming) phone calls with Lee, sorting speed dating cards and squealing over matches, my partner Irene’s endless physical emotional logistical intellectual support for me & this project, loved ones listening to the show in my living room with dinner ready when I get home. The friendships, sexcapades, relationships, situationships, awkward moments, joy, laughter, and dancing that came from our events — beauty and connection abounds, thank you for making it with us.

Crush cards designed and printed by my lovely friend Zemora - available for free at events ❤️
